FAQ
Yes, absolutely. SDI (Scuba Diving International) is a member of the RSTC (Recreational Scuba Training Council) and the EUF. Your certification is recognized worldwide, just like PADI or SSI. You’ll be able to work at any dive center, from the Maldives to Thailand, and throughout Europe.
No, it’s a logical bridge. We don’t teach you how to dive all over again; instead, we train you in the philosophy and teaching methods of the SDI/TDI system. The Crossover course is intensive but short (usually 2 to 3 days), focusing on standards, student management, and the pedagogical freedom our agency offers.
For the quality of the mentoring. At a resort, it’s often assembly-line work. At Neotec, you’re trained by a Technical Course Director. You’ll learn not only how to teach, but also how to manage a diving business, sell training courses, and adopt the operational rigor of technical diving. You’ll stand out in the job market.
No. You can become a Recreational Instructor (OWSI) without any technical diving experience. However, being trained at a technical diving center will give you a much greater than average comfort level and mastery of the equipment (buoyancy, trim), which will make you a better instructor.
Yes. The Course Director’s role doesn’t end with the awarding of the certificate. Sébastien Wilem has an extensive international network. We help our candidates write their professional résumés, advise them on destinations, and can recommend them to partner centers looking for qualified instructors.
